About Jamie and Pediatric Sleep Care
Jamie Graham is a trained and certified Gentle Sleep Coach and entered the GSC Advanced Program in January 2016. She has a Masters degree in Counseling Psychology and Guidance from the University of Missouri-Kansas City, in which she graduation Summa Cum Laude. While in graduate school, Jamie’s peers awarded her with the “Excellent Character and Outstanding Kindness” award for the Counseling program. Additionally, she completed a PlayTalk certification in Play Therapy. Jamie graduated from Kim West’s Gentle Sleep Coach Program, which is currently the most comprehensive and professional infant and child sleep coaching certification program available. The training program includes over 100 hours of instruction and includes ongoing group supervision and guidance from Kim West, LCSW-C (a.k.a. “The Sleep Lady”). The faculty panel for the program includes two medical doctors, a psychologist and Postpartum Depression expert, an attorney, lactation consultant, postpartum doulas, and a family therapist.
Jamie has three children of her own, who have had sleep issues of their own. After sleep training her children, Jamie decided that by combining the training and expertise provided by becoming a certified Gentle Sleep Coach with her background in child development and counseling, she would be able to passionately serve and successfully help many tired parents and children.
Jamie offers pediatric sleep consultations and services to clients in the greater Kansas City area, and is happy to serve families in other cities via telephone or Skype. Jamie offers gentle sleep coaching for families with children age 4.5 months to 6 years of age, and offers sleep education for newborns, 0-4.5 months of age. With her background in counseling, her knowledge of child development, and creative approach to solving problems that arise, Jamie provides a holistic and gentle approach to the sleep training process. She understands that every family is unique and therefore works collaboratively with the family to design a custom strategic plan that promotes secure attachment with your child, while also promoting healthy sleep habits for your family.
